Position Summary:
The Department of Health Policy and Management, Gillings School of Global Public Health, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC), seeks candidates for a full-time tenure/tenure-track faculty position. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2017. Although rank is open, candidates appropriate for Assistant or Associate Professor are preferred. The position will provide opportunities to engage with UNC Gillings School faculty with strong research programs in a number of major domestic and global health areas. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to teaching as well. The position will provide opportunities to teach and advise undergraduate, master’s and/or doctoral students. Faculty in the Department of Health Policy and Management come from varied disciplines including finance, economics, decision sciences, policy, public administration, sociology, and health management. The Department is situated in the UNC Gillings School, which is ranked second in the United States by U.S. News and World Report. Education Requirements and Experience:
The appointment will be contingent upon completion of the PhD. Candidates with training in economics or closely related disciplines are encouraged to apply. We are seeking candidates engaged in policy-relevant research that applies insights from economics to study health behaviors, health services and health policies. Past experience carrying out global health research is highly desirable. Candidates must demonstrate a strong ability and desire to work in an interdisciplinary environment and secure extramural funding.
