The Department of Economics in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences seeks to hire a faculty member in the field of macroeconomics.

The position is full-time, with rank open. Teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate and graduate courses. (The department offers both MA and PhD degrees.) Substantial advising of PhD students would be expected for senior appointees. The standard course load is two courses per semester, fall and winter.

Wayne State University has over 27,000 students, 13 schools and colleges, and 380 academic programs. It is classified as a very high activity research university by the Carnegie Foundation. Wayne State, Michigan State and the University of Michigan are the members of the University Research Corridor of Michigan.

Candidates should have a strong background and interest in research and teaching. A Ph.D. in economics is required. Candidates who seek appointments at the senior level must have publications of sufficient quantity and quality to qualify for tenure at the rank of associate or full professor.
