The Department of Business Administration and Economics at Saint Mary’s College invites applications for a two year visiting position in microeconomics at the rank of visiting assistant professor, beginning Fall 2017. Although the position is for two years there is a high possibility to convert to a tenure track position. Responsibilities include teaching three courses per semester, the ability to conduct independent research, and serving on College committees.

Required Qualifications: Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Economics at the time of appointment. Candidates must demonstrate an ability to pursue independent research and have demonstrable record of high quality teaching. Excellence in teaching, research, and advising is expected. All candidates must provide evidence of effective teaching and an active research program.

Desired Qualifications: Most importantly, we seek a candidate with a documented dedication to excellence in teaching, preferably two or more years. Further, we seek a candidate with a demonstrated quality and strong potential supervising undergraduate student research that will contribute to and enhance the College’s reputation. The ideal candidate will have experience working within a business department and within an interdisciplinary environment (Economics plays a key role in other majors across the College) to harmonize with the interdisciplinary nature of our department.
