Position Title/Short Description

Lord Abbett is seeking an International Economist to analyze the economic, political and financial developments across major emerging market countries and present findings to a broad internal audience of investment professionals.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Work closely with the portfolio management teams to formulate profitable trading strategies
Conduct quantitative research on broad macroeconomic relationships across asset classes
Determine the main fundamental drivers of currency and local fixed income markets

Qualifications:
Advanced degree (either Masters or PhD) in economics or finance with specific training in international macroeconomics
At least 2+ years work experience conducting country or regional analysis; flexible on current EM mandate (i.e. Asia, Latin America, Eastern Europe, etc.)
Must possess experience working with statistical programs
Strong verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively in teams and independently
