The Department of Economics and Business at Gordon College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track assistant, associate, or full professor appointment with a specialization in international economics and/or development. Position to begin August 2017. Rank commensurate with experience.

Principal teaching responsibilities will include courses such as international economics, economic development, international political economy, and related courses. The ideal candidate also would be able to teach econometrics or a course that explores the relationship between the Christian faith and the discipline of economics. In addition, the candidate would serve on a rotating basis as the director of the international affairs major. The international affairs major is shared between the Economics and Business department and the Political Science department. This faculty member will also teach an occasional section of principles of microeconomics and intermediate microeconomics and/or principles of macroeconomics and intermediate macroeconomics. The teaching load is 3-3. Faculty responsibilities include advising students, assisting with the department’s senior honors research program, service on college committees, and research.

The Department of Economics and Business, with seven full-time and four part-time faculty, offers majors in economics, finance, accounting, and business administration.

The ideal candidate will have:
• Ph.D. in Economics by the time of appointment (ABD will be considered)
• Demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching
• Evidence of or the potential for a promising publication record
• A strong commitment to the Christian mission of the college and the integration of faith and learning
