The Economics Department at Grand Valley State University invites applications to fill two tenure-track Assistant Professor positions. Excellent candidates in any field will be considered, but preference will be given to candidates with expertise and experience in applied macroeconomics and/or expertise and experience in empirical microeconomics (preferably with a field in industrial organization) capable of teaching Managerial Economics at the MBA level. Strong econometric skills are desired for both positions. Candidates are expected to have earned their Ph.D. from a respected research institution by August 2017 and demonstrate potential for sustaining a strong research/scholarship stream. Candidates must also demonstrate a commitment to effective teaching and willingness to engage in outreach activities with the local business and professional communities. The Economics Department has 15 full-time faculty and is part of the AACSB-accredited Seidman College of Business. GVSU has over 25,000 students and is ranked as the third best public regional university in the Midwest by U.S. News & World Report. Grand Rapids, the second-largest city in Michigan, is a vibrant, thriving area offering many cultural and leisure activities. Teaching load is three courses per semester.
