The SHU-UTS SILC Business School of Shanghai University (SILC) invites applications from candidates with strong research and teaching capabilities for the position of Lecturer/Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor in multi-disciplinary business areas.

Under its new leadership with a long-term strategic plan, Shanghai University is striving to develop into a first-class comprehensive university in China with a high-level talents training system and a knowledge innovation system as well in proportion to the city’s position as a modern international metropolis. SILC was founded in 1994 with University of Technology Sydney (UTS) as its founding partner, and was the earliest Sino-foreign cooperative business institute established in China. SILC is currently undergoing a strategic expansion into a full-fledged business school that emphasizes teaching and research in all business areas.

SILC have multiple openings to start in the fall of 2017 in the following areas: Corporate Finance/Financial Accounting (1), Regional/Energy/Environmental Economics (1-2), International Business/Trade (1-2). Junior candidates are expected to complete a Ph.D. degree by August 2017 and show evidence of promising research and teaching. Senior candidates should have an established record of research and teaching. Initial appointment is based on a three-year probationary contract that is renewable. Qualified candidates will be considered for permanent appointments after a successful completion of their probation duties.

Successful candidates with demonstrated records/potentials will be recommended for jointly funded appointment positions with UTS. The joint appointment is primarily based in Shanghai for 10-11 months per year to teach the dual degree programs at both undergraduate and graduate levels, with the remaining 1-2 months working in Sydney, Australia to fulfill its duties at UTS.

The SILC/joint appointment offers competitive salary, research funding, housing and travelling subsidies.
