The Department of Economics, Finance and Legal Studies at The University of Alabama invites applications for current and anticipated openings for tenure-track assistant or associate professor positions in economics beginning August 16, 2017.

Job Qualifications: Applications are invited from candidates who will have completed their Ph.D. or firmly expect to receive their Ph.D. by August 16, 2017. Primary duties include teaching economics at the graduate and undergraduate levels, engaging in a research program that results in articles in outstanding scholarly publications, and performing service as assigned by the Department, College, and University. Candidates with experience are encouraged to apply but must have a record of publishing in high-quality journals and demonstrated teaching effectiveness. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and achievements. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in one or more of the following fields:

About the College: The economics program offers degrees at the undergraduate, Masters, and Ph.D. levels. Our Masters programs include a full-time MBA, a STEM-pathway to the MBA, a weekend executive MBA program, and a one-year MA in Economics and MS in Finance. The department offers an excellent research environment including generous travel support, an active seminar series, and Ph.D. graduate research assistants. The College has state-of-the art facilities for both teaching and research including multimedia classrooms and an excellent collection of databases.
