The Department of Economics at Sonoma State University is committed to recruiting and supporting a broadly diverse faculty who will contribute to the Department's academic excellence, diversity of viewpoints and experiences, and relevance in a global society. The Department is seeking applications for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of assistant professor beginning August 2017, subject to final budgetary approval.

Responsibilities may include teaching courses in money and banking, international finance, econometrics, and principles and intermediate macro theory. Teaching load is 3 courses per semester. Applicants must possess: a PhD in Economics (or with expected completion by August 2017); excellent teaching skills; the ability to perform quality research, and; a commitment to provide service to the department, school, university, and community. The successful candidate will have expressed interest in engaging with the public on issues of importance to the California economy, and in particular the San Francisco North Bay Region. All of our faculty have a demonstrated commitment to teaching and advising students from diverse backgrounds, and will be expected to participate in the mission of building an academic community that fosters equal opportunity for all members.
