Full Text of JOE Listing:

Ripon College invites applications for up to two tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor rank beginning August 2017, to participate in integrated business management and economics programs. A doctorate in a relevant field is preferred, but other terminal degrees (MBA, JD, MPA, etc.) will be considered if accompanied by significant business experience. Candidates with extensive business experience and ABD or significant progress toward a doctorate will be considered. Candidates with doctoral degrees in traditional liberal arts disciplines will be considered for at least one of the positions, as long as the candidate’s area of research and teaching specialization is relevant to business; for example, we would consider an historian studying regulation, a sociologist studying marketing, a psychologist researching organizations, a political scientist studying economic policy, and so on.

Preferred teaching areas that these two positions may include entrepreneurship, statistics/data analysis, business strategy/game theory, industrial organization, economic principles, marketing, human resource management, strategic management, business and society, business law, and finance. Successful candidates will contribute courses to the new Catalyst core curriculum, on the study of management in diverse societies, and may teach the senior seminar. Letters of application should explain which of these areas are within the candidate’s competence; we do not expect any single candidate to cover all of these fields. The teaching load is three courses per semester.

Ripon College provides a nationally recognized (Phi Beta Kappa), academically rigorous, and supportive learning environment characterized by a teaching faculty committed to individualized instruction and collaborative inquiry. Successful applicants will demonstrate commitment to teaching excellence in a liberal arts setting, commitment to educating students of diverse backgrounds, and a promising research agenda.

Submit application letter addressing qualifications with a focus on teaching in a liberal arts college, a CV, three reference letters, evidence of teaching effectiveness, and a recent research sample.

Review of applications will begin on November 1, 2016 and continue until the positions are filled.

While Ripon College does not compromise the recruitment process for new faculty and is committed to hiring the most qualified person for every open position, we are cognizant of the needs of dual-career couples and support these couples in finding fulfilling employment for both partners. Ripon is committed to the principles of equal opportunity and adheres to non-discriminatory policies in employment and student enrollment. http://www.ripon.edu
