Job Description:
The Department of Resource Economics invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor with an applied microeconomics and econometrics research focus. Teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate and graduate courses in microeconomics, quantitative methods/econometrics, and managerial economics. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a national research agenda. Interdisciplinary research opportunities across the University of Massachusetts Amherst campus as part of the Computational Social Sciences Initiative will be possible. We are seeking talented applicants qualified for an assistant professor position. Under exceptional circumstances, highly qualified candidates at other ranks may receive consideration.

Requirements:
Applicants are required to have a Ph.D. in agricultural/managerial/resource/applied economics, economics, econometrics or a related field as of September 1, 2017.

The Department of Resource Economics has 17 faculty, 350 undergraduate majors, and about 20 graduate students (one-half are Ph.D. candidates). We place special emphasis on high quality research, faculty-student interaction, and cooperation among faculty. We share a fundamental commitment to teach and attract a diverse student body.
