Position Summary:

Join a vibrant campus community whose excellence is reflected in its diversity and student success. West Chester University of Pennsylvania's Department of Economics and Finance is seeking applicants for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Economics to begin August 2017.

Primary responsibilities include undergraduate and MBA teaching (principles, business statistics, and intermediate and upper-level economics electives), scholarly research appropriate for AACSB accredited institutions, and performance of departmental and university-wide service. Teaching assignments will include opportunities for teaching at off-campus sites and/or through distance learning.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates must either hold a Ph.D. in economics, or be ABD with economics Ph.D. completion expected by August 2017. Candidates who earned a Ph.D. more than three years ago must have scholarship consistent with West Chester University's scholarly academic standards, including recent refereed journal articles. Teaching experience at the undergraduate level is required, along with a record of scholarship or demonstrated research capability. Finalists must successfully complete an interview process and provide a teaching demonstration.

Preferred Qualifications (Field):

We particularly invite applicants with a concentration in economic history or in the history of economic thought. We will also consider excellent candidates with a background in law and economics, political economy or public policy.
