NCAER is India's oldest and largest independent, non-profit, national economic research institute. It does grant-funded research and studies for governments and industry. NCAER has strong scientific data collection capabilities. Starting in 2017, NCAER staff will enjoy new, world-class campus facilities in the heart of central New Delhi.

We seek researchers excited by the analytical, evaluation and political challenges of evidence-based policymaking. NCAER provides unparalleled opportunities to work on complex policy problems, use NCAER’s unique data sets or collect new data, contribute to policymaking at the highest levels of government, publish professionally, and engage with the print, digital, and social media. Applicants must have strong quantitative and writing skills and must be independent self-starters.

Senior Fellows provide intellectual and institutional leadership, develop and lead research programs, mentor junior staff, and have a strong record of post-PhD research, teaching, publications, and fund-raising built across multiple previous positions.

Fellows are mid-career professionals with a strong, post-PhD record of applied research, project management, teaching, or publications demonstrated over one or more previous positions

Associate Fellows can have nearly completed PhDs with cutting-edge empirical skills. Exceptional MPAs/MBAs/MAs will be considered.

Appointments are on renewable, 3-year contracts on competitive market salaries; shorter-term arrangements can be considered.
