The Faculty of Economics and Management Science at Leipzig University seeks qualified candidates to fill the position at the rank of

Assistant Professor (W1) in Economics, especially Quantitative Macroeconomics
(initially limited to 3 years, a prolongation up to a total of 6 years is possible)

at the earliest possible date.

The Assistant Professorship will be established in cooperation with the Halle Institute for Economic Research (IWH) – Member of the Leibniz Association. The Assistant Professorship serves to deepen the collaboration between the Faculty of Economics and Management Science at Leipzig University and the Halle Institute for Economic Research (IWH), where the future employee finds an attractive academic environment and can gain access to important resources for future research activities. We expect the candidates to have a strong interest in teaching and research at the interface between dynamic macroeconomic theory and applied macroeconometrics. The focus should be, for example, on dynamic general equilibrium models.

The requirements for the position are: the outstanding completion of a PhD, the potential for successful publications in international journals, and an existing network of international research collaborations. It is expected that the candidate will successfully contribute to the research activities of the faculty and the IWH. The tasks also include teaching in the Faculty’s Bachelor and Masters Programmes. English teaching experience is required.
