Full Text of JOE Listing:

The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (FHCRC) is recruiting a full-time faculty member at the Assistant/Associate Member level, based at the Hutchinson Institute for Cancer Outcomes Research (HICOR), housed in the Public Health Sciences Division of the FHCRC. HICOR faculty conduct retrospective and prospective research in comparative effectiveness,
cost-effectiveness, value of information theory, decision modeling, quality of care, health information technology, and health policy. A particular area of interest is in designing and developing prospective, pragmatic trials that evaluate interventions aimed at improving outcomes and lowering costs of care for patients and the health care system. To complement its research strengths, HICOR is seeking applicants with interests in how psychological, social, cognitive, and emotional factors influence both patient and physician decisions in cancer care and how current and proposed models of cancer care financing and delivery will influence those decisions. Relevant training and experience can come from a number of disciplines—examples include psychology, medicine, decision sciences, and health economics. Candidates should have advanced training with an MD or PhD degree as well as postdoctoral research experience.

The successful candidate will be expected to seek independent funding and develop a portfolio of inquiry in behavioral and economic aspects of cancer outcomes research. Candidates should have an emerging record of professional achievement, including peer-reviewed publications, presentations of scientific rigor and relevance to outcomes research, and leadership potential. The successful candidate will have a strong interest in oncology-related applications of their discipline(s), ranging across the cancer continuum: cancer risk behaviors, primary prevention, screening, diagnosis and treatment through survivorship and end of life care. Candidates should also have demonstrated a capacity for working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary setting.

How To Apply:
Interested individuals should submit a cover letter, CV, statement of research, and 3 letters of reference to www.fredhutch.org/job/6634

Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. For more information on FHCRC faculty and program activities, please visit our website: http://www.fredhutch.org
