Stanford Professor Matthew Gentzkow and Brown Professor Jesse Shapiro are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual to work as a full-time research assistant for a period of five months. The job will entail close collaboration on a number of new and ongoing projects in applied microeconomics. Previous holders of this position have gone on to Ph.D. programs at Harvard, MIT, Princeton, Stanford, and the University of Chicago. The position is located at Stanford University. Applications will be screened on an ongoing basis. The anticipated start date is February 1, 2016.

The ideal candidate will have:
(i) BA degree
(ii) strong quantitative background
(iii) strong computing skills
(iv) the ability to work independently to solve problems
(v) long-term interest in pursuing research in economics.

Background in economics is a plus, but not necessary – we welcome candidates with strong technical backgrounds who are looking for more exposure to economics.
