The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) is seeking an experienced researcher to lead the Decision Making and Behavioral Studies team in its Office of Research. This interdisciplinary team holds expertise spanning economics, psychology, and decision sciences, and conducts primary research to build foundational knowledge on behavioral science as well as provides input into policy projects to support the Bureau’s mission. As a Section Chief, you will have the opportunity to conduct self-directed research while providing strategic and methodological guidance on a variety of primary data collection projects including surveys, laboratory experiments, and field trials.

We are seeking candidates with experience leading projects that incorporate primary data collection methods as well as leadership and management experience. Candidates should possess demonstrated expertise in behavioral science as well as an interest in working with interdisciplinary teams of researchers, industry practitioners, and attorneys.
