An exciting opportunity for a graduating Ph.D. candidate to join the newly formed UBS Macro Strategy research team. The team is responsible for analyzing global macroeconomic developments and identifying cross-asset trends in foreign exchange and interest rate markets. The key recipients of the team’s research publications include institutional investors, such as hedge funds and asset managers.
The Associate Macro Strategist will report to the Co-Head of FX and Rates Research, and will be responsible for market analysis and the construction of quantitative models used to forecast market variables and identify macroeconomic/market trends. The ideal candidate will be able to effectively translate findings from this analysis into writing.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Construction of quantitative models, and participation in the production of frameworks and forecasts across key asset classes
- Analysis of macro and market trends-- providing views and commentary on relevant developments
- Contributing to Macro Strategy team publications
Requirements:
- Strong foundations in macro and international economics/finance
- Strong quantitative and econometric skills
- Solid writing skills and the ability to effectively communicate views and ideas
- Ph.D. (preferred) or M.A. degree in Economics and/or Finance or a related field
