Overview:
McKinsey's West Coast Office is seeking exceptional professionals with PhDs in economics with a specific focus on econometrics, mathematical economics and microeconomics as well as graduating business school Phd finance students. Academic and or research experience in a relevant discipline is highly advantageous, Candidates will find an exceptional group of colleagues for collaboration in joining our Strategy and Corporate Finance Practice as an associate in San Francisco or Silicon Valley Office.

Our Strategy and Corporate Finance practice offers clients a unique combination of strategic, financial, and transactional advisory services. When we discuss and execute a project, we carefully consider the client’s corporate strategy. At the same time, we work closely with our clients to build their internal skills throughout all phases of a project. The primary role of an Associate is to lead problem-solving efforts on a portion of a client engagement. Associates play an important role on client engagements by identifying issues, forming hypotheses, designing and conducting analyses, synthesizing conclusions into recommendations and helping to implement change with our clients. Throughout an engagement, an Associate is involved in discussions and presentations with senior client leadership. Associates work on engagement teams typically consisting of 3 to 6 consultants. A typical engagement lasts between 2-4 months, and an Associate will normally work on a single engagement on a full-time basis.
