The University of Stavanger is currently developing a broad and inter-disciplinary initiative in energy efficiency and sustainability, and therefore invites applications for a position as associate professor of energy economics at UiS Business School.

The research field of the position is energy economics. Relevant candidates could have a background in microeconomics, macroeconomics, resource and environmental economics, industrial organization, finance and/or econometrics. We are particularly interested in candidates who demonstrate specific research competence in empirical methods (statistics/econometrics) applied on producer and/or consumer behavior in markets and value-chains for electricity, with a special preference for renewable energy sources (e.g., hydro, wind, and/or solar energy).

Responsibilities comprise research, supervision, teaching, student assessment related to the field above and administration.

The language of instruction is Norwegian or English. The appointee must therefore be prepared to teach classes in English.

If there are no fully qualified applicants, temporary employment may be offered for a period of three years with a view to acquiring full qualifications and tenure. The applicant must be judged to have the necessary abilities to acquire such qualifications within this period.
