For more than 50 years, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) has been the largest source of multilateral development financing for Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). The IDB works to identify and implement innovative, comprehensive, and effective approaches to the economic and social development challenges faced by LAC countries.

The Institutional Capacity of the State Division (ICS) develops sector strategies and operational guidelines, provides financial and technical assistance, undertakes policy dialogue at the country and regional levels, and fosters strategic partnerships in areas of citizen security and justice.

ICS is looking for a Knowledge and Research Specialist to design and manage research projects, knowledge and capacity-building products; guide and carry out impact evaluations of interventions aimed at preventing crime and violence.

The IDB Citizen Security team will be interviewing at the annual AEA Meetings in San Francisco, on January 3-5, 2016.

The ideal candidate would have:
–Proven experience in conceptualizing, developing and implementing research projects.
–Interest in designing and carrying out impact evaluations related to IDB projects and programs on crime prevention.
–Record of high-quality research outputs and skills in communicating research to diverse audiences, particularly to policy makers.
