The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at The Cooper Union invites applications for a full time, tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in Economics, or a closely related field such as Geography or Sociology, with a preferred focus on issues of globalization.

The Cooper Union is a predominantly undergraduate institution offering baccalaureate degrees in Art, Architecture, and Engineering.

The successful candidate will contribute to the teaching and further development of the interdisciplinary core curriculum in humanities and social sciences, required of all students, as well as teach electives in their own field. We are especially seeking a colleague committed to both undergraduate teaching and scholarly research, as well as to the historic mission and legacy of The Cooper Union.

Applications should include a cover letter discussing research projects and teaching interests, experience, and future plans, CV, statement of teaching philosophy, sample syllabus, one writing sample (article, book or dissertation chapter), and contact information for three recommenders/referees. The position will begin in August 2016.
