BlackRock’s Fundamental Equity division manages a full range of equity strategies that span the risk/return spectrum. More than 40 investment teams manage style-specific portfolios built on BlackRock company research in each major equity asset class.

The analyst will conduct quantitative research related to alpha factor selection, alpha model development and portfolio construction. The ideal candidate should have an advanced degree(s) in quantitative and analytical disciplines, along with strong communication skills given frequent interaction with the Fundamental investment team. Master’s degree or Ph.D. preferred along with at least 3 years of experience in both research and portfolio management. The ideal candidate would have worked at a buy-side investment firm with both Quantitative and Fundamental disciplines.

Responsibilities/ Qualifications
•Work with financial databases to build quantitative signals
•Program and support various systems for quantitative analytics
•Conduct quantitative research to improve existing alpha models/strategies
•Interact with Fundamental Managers/Analysts to contextualize and customize quantitative models and screens.
•Develop / evaluate new alpha and analytical frameworks
•Conduct quantitative research on portfolio construction to combine quantitative and fundamental views
•Strong programming skills in Rand working knowledge of SQL server
•Experience with Market QA is a plus. Working knowledge of Statistical Modeling: Linear regression analysis, non-linear regression analysis
