The School Effectiveness and Inequality Initiative (SEII) out of the MIT economics department is seeking a motivated and organized Research Assistant who will support efforts to evaluate and improve education programs and policies.

Specific tasks include: constructing original research data sets; preparing data for analysis; conducting analysis in statistical packages to answer specific research questions; code management and project documentation; presenting results at weekly team meetings; other tasks, as assigned.

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree and strong quantitative and programming skills are required. Candidates with previous research experience are strongly preferred. Most programming will be done in Stata.

The position is located at the NBER in Cambridge, Massachusetts. An employment term of at least one year is expected. Start date is flexible, though candidates who can begin on or before May 16, 2016 are strongly preferred.
