The Finance Department at the Fox School of Business at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA is seeking a candidate for an academic, Non Tenure-Track faculty position to begin in fall 2016. The chosen candidate will engage in teaching (2-2 teaching load) and provide service to the School and Department. Teaching will be at the undergraduate and master-level (MBA and MS Program in Finance) with an emphasis in asset pricing and quantitative finance. Service commitments include: (i) outreach to the Philadelphia financial community to assist in finding internships and permanent employment opportunities for undergraduate and graduate finance students, (ii) working with Fox’s faculty and administrative staff to strengthen our network to the Philadelphia financial community via speaker series and other activities connecting students to the professional finance world, and (iii) assisting with the administration of a large department, consisting of 25 faculty members, 1200 undergraduates, over 120 finance master-students, and 12 doctoral candidates.
The preferred qualifications for this position are:
• A Ph.D. or D.B.A. in finance, financial economics, or economics (micro and/or econometrics). Consideration will also be given to practicing professionals with substantial work experience and a master-level degree in the finance sector.
• Prior teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or master level.
• Evidence of effective and high quality teaching via student evaluation forms, etc.
• Outgoing individual with the ability to interface with practicing financial professionals and corporate managers/executives.
About the Department: The Department has a vibrant and growing undergraduate population, offering concentrations in finance, financial planning, and real estate; offers three Master of Science degrees; and supports a dynamic and well-established PhD program. The Department and faculty maintain an entrepreneurial environment that encourages curriculum development, outreach to the professional financial community, and efficient administration of internal activities.
