The Department of Economics is currently accepting applications for the Associate Director of the Center for Business and Economic Research (CBER). CBER conducts applied economic studies for a variety of public and private sector clients and is the leading source of information on the Kentucky economy.
The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in Economics, excellent written communications, experience in writing for both professional and lay audiences, and solid empirical research skills. Interest and ability in working with the Director to obtain external research funding is crucial. Since CBER is an integral part of the Economics Department, the Associate Director will have an opportunity to work on projects that will produce academic quality papers and to participate in the academic life of the department.
The initial appointment will depend in the candidate’s qualifications and experience. Individuals holding a Ph.D. will be appointed in the University's Research Professor Series. Promotions in rank will be possible depending on performance and commensurate with qualifications.
