Job Summary:
The Department of Economics at the University of San Francisco invites applications for a tenure-track position in the field of International/Open Economy Macroeconomics, broadly defined, at the Assistant Professor level beginning in August 2016, pending approval and funding. Preference is for a supplementary field and/or applied research in Economic History, Trade, Econometrics, Financial Economics, or Political Economy. The USF Economics Department offers an undergraduate Economics major, an MA in Economics, and an MS in International & Development Economics (IDEC ).

A review of applications will begin on November 16, 2015. The search will continue until the position is filled. Interviews will be held at the 2016ASSA meeting in San Francisco.

Job Responsibilities:
We are looking for candidates with a demonstrated ability "through prior experience, coursework, or current research" to teach undergraduate and Masters-level graduate courses in international macroeconomics and topics related to their fields at the introductory, intermediate, and advanced levels. The standard tenure-track teaching load at USF is two 4-unit courses per semester with an additional third 4-unit course every fourth semester (2-2-2-3 over two years). USF expects both excellent teaching and an active program of empirical research leading to published work and provides substantial support for career development in both areas. The successful candidate must be dedicated to service to the department and University, and have completed all requirements for a Ph.D. in Economics by August 2016.

Minimum Requirements:
Preference is for a supplementary field and/or applied research in Economic History, Trade, Econometrics, Financial Economics, or Political Economy.
