The National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS), founded in 1997 as a stand-alone national graduate university focused on policy studies, aims to cultivate public policy leaders and professionals who will play key roles in democratic governance. We are international in our faculty, our student body and our outlook. We are currently seeking candidates for the position of associate or full professor in the above area to start on April 1, 2016.
We will consider highly-qualified candidates who have an established track record in terms of publications, teaching, supervision, and service. Preference will be given to candidates who have taught at a graduate school and published in high-quality journals in economics.
An appointee will be required to teach post-graduate courses (3 to 6 half-courses, each offered for 15 weeks) per year in English and supervise research students including Ph.D. students. An appointee must demonstrate willingness to engage with colleagues in the institute and policy makers, industries, and aid agencies in Japan and other countries, and compete for external grants. An appointee is also expected to contribute administratively.
