The Statistics Department seeks applicants for two tenure track Assistant Professor positions in Probability, Applied or Theoretical Statistics. These are research and teaching positions with student advising and department committee responsibilities.

Applicants should have demonstrated strong research abilities. A PhD in Statistics or a related area is required. Applicants should submit a letter of application, curriculum vita, a statement of research and teaching interests, graduate transcripts, not more than one preprint/reprint, and arrange for three letters of recommendation to be submitted. The Stanford Statistics department currently has 22 regular faculty members, as well as a distinguished group of emeriti. Many professors have joint appointments in other departments, including positions in mathematics, economics, the School of Medicine, the School of Engineering, the School of Education, and the School of Earth, Energy & Environmental Sciences. The varied research in the department integrates core statistical theory, mathematics, computing, algorithms, and applications to many scientific disciplines.
