We offer an informal, flexible and collegial work environment. We provide excellent benefits and competitive salaries. Our Tax Policy Center is seeking accomplished scholars interested in bridging the gap between highly technical research and practical public policy. Responsibilities include leading research teams working on federal, state, and local tax policy issues, and collaborating with researchers across the Urban Institute and Brookings Institution on projects related to tax policy; engaging funders and contributing to proposals for new research projects and grants; writing articles for both academic publications and broader audiences (e.g., blog posts); speaking to the press and policymakers about the implications of research for public policy; organizing and contributing to policy seminars and events; and working to expand audiences for our research through social media or other web-based tools. This position requires a PhD or equivalent experience in economics, public policy, public administration, statistics, political science, or a related field, and 6+ of post-graduate experience in microeconomics, public finance, and econometrics.
