The Graduate School of Economics at Hitotsubashi University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position starting on October 1, 2016. We are interested in candidates with research interests in applied microeconomics (e.g. labor economics, industrial organization, and development economics). Candidates must have completed their Ph.D. or complete it within three months after the time of appointment. The successful candidate will teach in English. Teaching obligation is two courses per academic year. Courses to be taught are undergraduate labor economics and undergraduate/graduate field courses and/or core courses. The term of the initial contract is three years and, depending on academic performance, the contract can be renewed once for two more years. The tenure decision will be made within the five years on the basis of academic performance mainly measured by publications in refereed journals. Administrative duties include shared responsibility for committee membership and entrance examinations. Other administrative duties may be assigned.
