Founded in 1911, the University of Hong Kong is committed to the highest international standards of excellence in teaching and research, and has been at the international forefront of academic scholarship for many years. The University has a comprehensive range of study programmes and research disciplines spread across 10 faculties and over 140 academic departments and institutes/centres. There are over 27,700 undergraduate and postgraduate students who are recruited globally, and more than 2,000 members of academic and academic-related staff coming from multi-cultural backgrounds, many of whom are internationally renowned.

Tenure-Track Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in Finance (several posts) in the School of Economics and Finance (Ref.: 201501171)

Applications are invited for appointments as Tenure-Track Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in Finance, jointly offered by the School of Economics and Finance and the School of Business, to commence on July 1, 2016 or as soon as possible thereafter, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal. Exceptionally outstanding candidates at the Professor level may be considered for appointments on tenure terms.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in finance or related areas. All fields of finance will be considered. The appointees should be able to teach in the doctoral, master's, and undergraduate degree programmes; and are expected to commit to high-quality scholarly research, teaching and services. Candidates for a Professorship should also have a proven record of high-quality scholarship and teaching, and be able to conduct an ongoing active research agenda and provide leadership and services within the Faculty of Business and Economics and the University.

The finance group consists of 20 research-active faculty members and runs a high-quality weekly seminar series. HKU colleagues published (including forthcoming) 29 papers in JF, JFE, RFS, and JFQA since 2013. Teaching, research and professional activities are conducted in English.

A globally competitive remuneration package commensurate with the appointee's qualifications and experience will be offered. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointments will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary, as well as annual leave, and medical benefits. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
