The Department of Public Administration and International Affairs in Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs invites applications for one or more Assistant/Associate tenure-track or tenured appointments. The Maxwell School aims to build in the area of public policy analysis. The substantive policy area of interest is open, and we welcome applications from those who study policy within both domestic and international contexts. Suggested topical areas include, but are not limited to, education policy, health policy, urban policy, environmental policy, or social welfare policy. Candidates who are interested in working within an interdisciplinary research environment are especially encouraged to apply. Successful applicants will also receive an appointment in the Center for Policy Research (http://maxwell.syr.edu/cpr.aspx). The anticipated start date is August 2016.

The Department of Public Administration and International Affairs has been ranked first among graduate programs in public affairs since the U.S. News & World Report rankings began and in the top 20 masters programs in International Relations by Foreign Affairs. The faculty consists of outstanding researchers and teachers dedicated to original scholarship in public administration, policy, and governance. The Department supports the largest share of Maxwell graduate students, offering six degrees and three certificate programs, including a Masters and Executive Masters in Public Administration, a Masters and Executive Masters in International Relations, a Masters in Public Health, and a Doctorate in Public Administration.
