The Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences invites applications for the next Chair of the Department of Economics. The Department of Economics is at the intellectual center of many areas of scholarship at Stony Brook University, including collaborations with the Center for Behavioral Political Economy, the Center for Game Theory, and the College of Business. The Department hosts strong and growing doctoral, masters and undergraduate programs, and its alumni are prominent in many sectors of finance and investment in the New York City area and beyond. The Chair of the Department shall be at the rank of Full Professor and is expected to serve beginning in fall 2016. Applicants from any field of economics is welcome.

We are looking for scholars who are internationally recognized leaders in their fields, have a commitment to excellence in teaching and are willing to work actively with the administration to steer the growth of the Department of Economics.
