Applications are invited for a full-time tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor (or the Associate Professor level in exceptional circumstances), commencing July 1, 2016, in the Department of Economics at McMaster University. The Department has a particular interest in applied theorists working in the areas of public economics (incl. environment and natural resources), labour economics, industrial organization, macroeconomics, and international economics. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed their PhD or who expect to complete their PhD requirements prior to July 1, 2016.

The Department of Economics is a research-intensive academic unit. The appointee will be expected to conduct an independent research program yielding significant peer-reviewed publications, to attract external peer-reviewed research funding, to teach undergraduate and graduate students, and to supervise doctoral students.

The Department will begin reviewing applications November 1, 2015 and the position will remain open until it is filled. The Department will be interviewing at the Canadian Economics Employment Exchange in Toronto in December 2015 and at the ASSA meetings in San Francisco in January 2016.
