The Department of Economics invites applications to fill one or more junior faculty openings at the rank of assistant professor to begin in fall 2016. The fields within Economics are open, although applications are particularly encouraged from candidates in macroeconomics, labor, and other applied microeconomics fields including health and urban economics. The Department welcomes applications from candidates whose interests are aligned with Northeastern University’s global mission and its research emphases on health, sustainability, security, and network sciences. A PhD in Economics or equivalent is required. Applications received by November 25 will be given full consideration.

Applicants must submit through our on-line application system a letter of application, research and teaching statements, a CV, and contact information for three references. Mailed/e-mailed materials cannot be accepted.

The Department of Economics includes seventeen full-time tenured and tenure-track faculty members, and serves approximately 500 undergraduate majors and 60 graduate students in its MA and PhD programs. The PhD program offers fields in labor economics and competition policy (industrial organization). The department expects to hire at least ten new faculty members over the next five years.
