The Department of Agricultural, Environmental and Development Economics (aede.osu.edu) in the College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at The Ohio State University is inviting applications for an assistant/associate professor, tenure-track position to develop an internationally recognized program of research and teaching focused on sustainable development and the trade-offs among economic development, social equity and environmental protection in international or regional contexts. The appointee will have an academic year (9 month) appointment in the Department of Agricultural, Environmental and Development Economics with competitive salary and benefits package and is expected to develop and maintain a world-class research program in their field of inquiry, and teach the equivalent of three classes in our undergraduate, masters, and/or PhD programs.

This position is part of a cluster of four new hires in the department focused on sustainable resource management in the 21st century. The position is partially funded by a Discovery Theme Initiative (discovery.osu.edu). The incumbent will be engaged in the Discovery Themes program on Sustainable and Resilient Economy (https://discovery.osu.edu/focus-areas/sustainable-economy), focused on solutions that accelerate the global transition to a more sustainable economy.

Applicants must possess a PhD in economics, applied economics or a related field, or expect to complete all degree requirements before August 1, 2016. A record of participating in collaborative, interdisciplinary research teams is preferred, as well as experience with University teaching and mentoring members of underrepresented groups.
