The Department of Agricultural, Environmental and Development Economics (
The appointee will have an academic year (9 month) appointment in the Department of Agricultural, Environmental and Development Economics with competitive salary and benefits package and is expected to develop and maintain a world-class research program in their field of inquiry, and teach the equivalent of three classes in our undergraduate, masters, and/or PhD programs.
This position is part of a cluster of four new hires in the department focused on sustainable resource management in the 21st century. The position is partially funded by a Discovery Theme Initiative ( at Ohio State University. The successful candidate will be among the first wave of hires University-wide in a highly collaborative interdisciplinary Initiative for Food and Agricultural Transformation ( that includes more than 50 existing faculty and many external partners seeking transformational solutions for resilient, sustainable and global food security.
Applicants must possess a PhD in economics or an applied economics field, or expect to complete all degree requirements before August 1, 2016. Interest in developing or working in collaborative multidisciplinary research teams, and experience with University teaching and mentoring members of underrepresented groups is preferred.
