Cleveland State University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the instructor/assistant professor level in economics beginning August 22, 2016. The minimum qualification for the position at the Assistant Professor level is that the candidate must complete the Ph.D. by July 1, 2016 and be an applied micro-economist with a field of specialization in public economics.

Teaching responsibilities consist of M.A. level courses in microeconomic theory and mathematical methods in addition to undergraduate and M.A. level courses consistent with the applicant’s field(s) of specialization and training.

Applicants will be evaluated on the basis of quality or potential quality in teaching and research, and strength of letters of recommendation. Preference will be given to applicants with a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching and research. Additional preferred qualifications include the ability to contribute through teaching, research, and/or service to the diversity, cultural sensitivity, and excellence of the academic community. Applicants invited for an on-campus interview will present current research in a faculty seminar and give a separate demonstration of teaching effectiveness.

Hiring is contingent on maintaining existing levels of funding from the State.
