The University of Delaware invites intellectual leaders with distinguished scholarly credentials to apply for a named professorship in energy and the environment. We seek a dynamic and highly collaborative leader, who will catalyze enthusiasm and collaboration across disciplines. Marshaling the University’s significant resources, this individual will expand our collective capabilities to solve real world problems and contribute to contemporary debates at the intersection of energy, environment, and policy.

Academic interests may address any aspect of energy and the environment and should incorporate multiple theoretical and methodological perspectives. We seek a broad and engaging thinker who transcends disciplinary boundaries. The successful candidate will be at the forefront of energy and environmental issues with a wide ranging impact within and beyond the academy. An earned doctorate from any relevant discipline and a strong portfolio of impactful scholarship and teaching are required. The position can be housed in any academic department or a possible joint appointment among departments. The appointment will be a tenured faculty at the Full Professor level. The salary will be highly competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The University is home to many leading departments, centers, and institutes associated with energy or the environment, including the Center for Energy and Environmental Policy, the Delaware Environmental Institute, and the UD Energy Institute, as well as nationally renowned academic programs related to the environment and sustainability, including environmental science, environmental engineering, environmental humanities, environmental justice, environment and society, water science and policy, disaster science and management, environmental policy, and environmental studies.
