The Economics Department at Missouri State University in Springfield, MO invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track assistant professor to start in August 2016. An earned PhD or ABD in Economics is required. Candidates must have demonstrated evidence of research in the field of Behavioral Economics, as well as a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

The Department offers B.S. and B.A. degrees in economics and offers courses for a number of graduate programs on campus. The teaching load is nine hours per semester and will include courses in behavioral economics, principles of microeconomics, principles of macroeconomics, and other upper-division courses. Duties will also include committee work and advising, mentoring and recruiting majors and minors for the economics department. Demonstrated knowledge of effective strategies for working with diverse faculty, staff, and students is required.
