Full Text of JOE Listing:

The Federal Reserve Board in Washington, DC seeks new and experienced Ph.D. economists to conduct innovative research and policy analysis in a broad range of topics in economics and finance. Fields include, but are not limited to: applied and theoretical microeconomics; applied and theoretical econometrics; macroeconomics and monetary economics; international trade and finance; foreign economies, both advanced and emerging; financial institutions and markets; financial stability and macroprudential policy; payment systems; and household and business behavior.

Candidates must demonstrate the potential to contribute substantially to academic research and policy analysis and to recognize and articulate differing viewpoints related to their work. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in economics, finance, or a related discipline, or must be nearing completion of their doctoral dissertation. Citizenship status may be a consideration for some positions.

The Board employs over 300 Ph.D. economists, with a diverse range of interests and expertise. Researchers at the Board have access to unique data, extensive computing facilities, trained research assistants, and active speaker series and workshops.
