The Department of Economics invites applications for a tenure track position (Requisition # 5120BR) at the assistant professor level for appointment effective September 1, 2016.

The Department seeks an individual with primary research and teaching interests in macroeconomics. Applicants with interests in international finance, open economy macroeconomics, business cycles or monetary economics are particularly encouraged to apply. All other macroeconomic fields/areas will also be considered. The successful applicants will have a Ph.D. in Economics by the start date and will be expected to contribute to the university’s mission, including producing publishable research, applying for external funding, supervising Ph.D. dissertation research, and teaching effectively at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Salary, scholarly assistance and benefits are competitive.

Applications should include a letter of interest, vita, transcripts of graduate work, three letters of reference, a research paper, a research statement, evidence of teaching effectiveness, if available, and statement of teaching philosophy. Preference will be given to candidates whose application and supporting materials are received by December 1, 2015. Interviews will be held at the Annual AEA/ASSA meeting in San Francisco, CA.
