Faculty Positions in Finance 2016-2017

The Finance Department at HEC Montreal invites applications for multiple faculty positions at all levels for the academic year 2016-2017. Candidates are sought in all areas of finance (including Pensions and Retirement, Financial Institutions and Banking).

Job Qualifications: Candidates should hold a doctorate in Finance or in a related field, or be close to completion. Candidates for assistant professor should be promising scholars; candidates for more senior positions should have an established record of quality research. We are also looking for seasoned assistant professors who wish to be promoted for tenure shortly after being hired. Successful candidates will be expected to publish research in leading journals and to teach high-quality graduate and undergraduate Finance courses.

Job Description: The typical teaching load for new professors is 3 semester-courses (108 class-hours) per year. Research publications are financially rewarded based on journal ranking. French is the primary working environment and language of instruction at the School (although some English and Spanish classes are also offered) and candidates are expected to integrate themselves in such an environment. HEC Montréal provides excellent support (including language teachers and teaching load reduction) to become proficient in French both inside and outside of the classroom.

We will be interviewing interested candidates at the FMA meetings in Orlando, and at the AFA meetings in San Francisco. The deadline for applications is September 30th, 2015 for interviews at the FMA meetings, and November 15th,2015 for the AFA meeting.
