The Economics Department at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY invites applications, expressions of interest, and nominations for the position of Professor and Department Head of Economics. The successful candidate will join a growing department whose research thrusts include the economics of innovation and technological change, applied microeconomics, behavioral and experimental economics, industrial organization, law and economics, environmental economics, and economic history. The department offers a B.S. in Economics, a M.S. in Economics, and a Ph.D in Economics.

The successful candidate will have a strong record of scholarly achievement emblematic of tenured senior professorial rank as well as outstanding leadership and administrative skills, evidence of successful teaching and mentorship to undergraduate and graduate students, a proven track record of sponsored research, and corporate and foundation partnerships. A terminal degree in Economics or foreign degree equivalent is required. Prior experience in interdisciplinary research and fundraising is preferred.

Founded in 1824, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is the nation’s oldest technological university.
