IHS (NYSE: IHS) seeks to add a budding economist to its US Macroeconomic team. In this role, initially you’ll play a significant role in estimating forecasting equations. Over time, your focus will switch to forecasting. You’ll take ownership of a sector (such as government, trade, housing or long-term forecasting). We’re looking for a problem solver, one who perseveres, a person passionate about economics.

Qualifications:
• PhD (or anticipating completion of a PhD very soon) in Economics, Finance or related field
• A solid grounding in macroeconomics, microeconomics and econometrics
• Strong presentation and writing skills (required)
• Impeccable character with high ethical and quality standards (required)
• The ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
• Passion for generating outstanding performance for clients
• Willingness to work one weekend a month (required)
• Leadership skills--specifically, an ability to solve problems, see the big picture, effect change, teach and mentor junior staff

Other skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, knowledge of using statistical software (IHS Eviews, SAS)
