The Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA) is an international research center that produces independent academic research and policy advice of the highest quality standards and collaborates with a worldwide network of researchers and universities, including Bonn University. IZA has a special emphasis on, but not restricted to, policy-relevant labor market topics and has openings for:

(i) Research Associate in the IZA area “Evaluation of Labor Market Programs”. Starting date: fall 2015.
The Research Associate will join the core research staff in Bonn. The position offers a competitive compensation package plus travel money. Successful candidates are expected to publish their research in top peer-reviewed journals, contribute to the intellectual environment and strongly support IZA projects. The ideal candidate is a recent Ph.D. (or close to completion) with an excellent research profile, experience with the econometric evaluation of policy programs, strong knowledge of evaluation methods, as well as the ability to attract external research funding. The appointment is for up to 6 years, initially for 3 years, with possibility of renewal for another 3 years. IZA provides a stimulating research environment with excellent facilities and the opportunity to interact with IZA’s large Research Fellow network. IZA has an active weekly seminar series which attracts renowned international labor economists. Additionally, IZA hosts several well-regarded labor workshops and conferences generating a wide international interest. (ii) Senior Research Associate in the IZA area “Evaluation of Labor Market Programs”. Starting date: fall 2015.
The Senior Research Associate will join the core research staff in Bonn. The position offers a competitive compensation package plus travel money. Successful candidates are expected to publish their research in top peer-reviewed journals, contribute to the intellectual environment, lead IZA projects and assume responsibilities in research management. The ideal candidate is a senior researcher (at least 3 to 5 years after receiving a Phd), who holds a position at a university or research institution, has an excellent research profile, experience in the econometric evaluation of policy programs, strong knowledge of evaluation methods, and a successful record of attracting external research funding. The appointment is for up to 6 years, initially for 3 years, with possibility of renewal for another 3 years. IZA provides a stimulating research environment with excellent facilities and the opportunity to interact with IZA’s large Research Fellow network.
