Simpson College, a private, nationally recognized regional college grounded in the liberal arts tradition and affiliated with the United Methodist Church invites applications for the tenure-track position of Assistant/Associate Professor of Economics in the Department of Business Administration and Economics, as well as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Economics.

The candidates will teach in a variety of areas, with emphasis on macroeconomics, international economics, finance and investments. An ability and interest in teaching data analytics or forecasting is a plus. For the tenured position, the teaching load is six courses per year. Commitment to excellent, innovative teaching and professional development is expected.

The tenured position will begin on or around January 11, 2016; however, an August 23, 2016 start date will be considered based on candidate preference and needs of the college. The position requires a Ph.D. or other appropriate terminal degree, interdisciplinary interest and experience. ABD candidates close to completion will be considered. Candidates for the position must demonstrate potential for excellence in teaching and a willingness to engage students in scholarship, research and/or creative work. Faculty members at Simpson College are expected to participate in faculty governance, student advising, new student recruitment and in other ways to demonstrate support for the mission of the institution.

The visiting position will teach 3 classes in the fall 2015 semester and begin on or around August 25, 2015. The position may continue into the spring 2016 semester subject to staffing needs of the college. A Ph.D. or other appropriate terminal degree, interdisciplinary interest and experience is required. ABD candidates close to completion will be considered. Candidates for the position must demonstrate excellence in teaching.
