Working with economics/marketing faculty, your primary role will be to analyze large datasets, use algorithms from econometrics, statistics and machine learning. This will involve writing code for the efficient collection and analysis, and determining additional data collection and reporting requirements. You will draw on problem-solving skills to accelerate computing; document and manage DB assets; design and customize reports. As needed, you will participate in the development of new software tools or infrastructure resources to enable running larger-scale statistical models.

Preferred Education/Experience/Skills:
• Graduate degree in a computational/quantitative discipline, w/empirical research experience
• Minimum 3 years' experience programming in Matlab, R, SAS, Stata;
atleast 2 years’ programming experience with a general-purpose language; generating SQL-like queries
• Apply software development lifecycle & project management techniques
• Relational and dimensional logical data modeling
• Solid understanding of statistical and machine learning techniques
• Diligent testing/documenting of program code; working knowledge of version-control repositories
such as BitBucket or GitHub
• Write and debug programs in Pig, Hive, and/or similar
• Build solutions using AWS Elastic MapReduce, Data Pipeline, EC2, and/or S3
• Collect supplemental data via API programming/web scraping
• Administer SQL-based databases
• Program parallel problems using Grid Engine, Open MPI, or Matlab
