Assistant Professor in Agribusiness, Full-Time Tenure-Track, 9-Month Appointment, 60% extension, 40% teaching
A Ph.D. in Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Applied Economics or a closely related field is required with a strong knowledge of economic theory and quantitative methods.
The successful candidate is expected to (a) deliver a nationally recognized marketing/production economics/management extension program in ornamental horticulture and related industries; (b) conduct and publish applied research results in academic journals, outreach and popular media, and other forms of communication; (c) teach three classes per academic year, and advise undergraduate and graduate students; and (d) secure external funding to support academic and outreach activities.
This faculty member will provide valuable support in production economics, marketing and other areas of business and operations management to county Extension agents, allied industry personnel, producers, and others involved in implementing or supporting the production of greenhouse, nursery and turfgrass crops throughout the State
